Make Your Home More Energy Efficient and Receive Up to a $1,500 Tax Credit*

Energy Star LogoColorado Window and Siding sells and installs window, door and siding products that will help increase your home’s beauty, comfort and energy efficiency. Now, thanks to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, if you purchase Energy Star qualified* windows or doors before December 31, 2010, you may qualify for a federal tax credit up to $1,500 on your federal income tax*.

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 provides federal tax credits for eligible building components that improve energy efficiency. This includes energy efficient replacement windows and doors. To qualify for the tax credit, windows and doors must have a U-Factor and a Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) rating equal to or less than 0.30, as rated by the NFRC. How  Does it Work?

1. Purchase any of our Energy Star qualified* windows or doors before December 31, 2010. 

2. Save your sales receipt and the Manufacturer’s Certification Statement (attached to your windows)for the applicable products with your tax documents. 

3. Claim the tax credit for your qualified purchase on your Federal tax filing for the 2009 and/or 2010 tax year. See IRS Notice for details. Download IRS Form 5695.


* Receive up to a maximum $1,500 tax credit for qualifying windows and doors. Qualifying products must have a U-factor and Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) rating of 0.30 or less, as rated by the NFRC and be purchased for an existing home and installed before 12/31/2010.
